Since live pigeon shooting/competitions were made illegal in the UK in 1921, clay pigeon shooting was invented. They use 'Traps' which are purpose made, spring loaded, flywheel or rotational devices particularly designed to launch the different types of targets in singles or pairs.
The 'Traps' are the clay pigeon targets to shoot at from a distance up to 100 metres. They use shotguns to shoot at the clay pigeons.
