1 week IKO kitesurfing course

Learn to kitesurf quickly and safely in one of Europe's top kitesurf locations. Our 'zero-hero' 12-hour course is based on the official International Kite Organization (IKO) training program.

Our experienced IKO-certified instructors will help you progress quickly and safely so you are up and riding within 4 days. We use specialist equipment including the latest North student kites, trainer boards and Headzone radio helmets.

Lessons are conducted in English, Turkish or German with a maximum group size of 4 people. Students receive an internationally recognized IKO Kite Boarder Card to certify their level of kite boarding on successful completion of the course.

This package also includes a week's rental of the complete kitesurfing kit so you can perfect your riding skills, pick up more tips and enjoy the great kite surfing conditions after the course is complete. We are the North Kiteboarding distributor for Turkey, so only the latest equipment is used for lessons and rentals.

We have two kite centres on the Cesme Peninsular, with access to great places to learn. The area is a natural playground for kiteboarders thanks to the meltem, a seasonal climatic system that creates great wind throughout the summer, from May-October. The meltem wind is strong and stable funneled and accelerated by the surrounding hills - great for kiteboarders! It's reliable too, with over 25 windy days a month during the summer.

Alacati is a charming town located on the Cesme peninsular on Turkey's beautiful Aegean coast. The town's cobbled streets are lined with stone houses, shops and tavernas, and dotted with friendly guesthouses and boutique hotels. The shops sell local crafts, jewellery and antiques; while the village square is filled with market stalls and open-air cafes. There are many interesting sights and great beaches on the Cesme peninsular and plenty of other things to do, such as diving, sailing or visiting one of the local hot-springs. After dark, there are nightspots to suit all tastes, from friendly tavernas to slick cocktail bars, with a selection of nightclubs and beach bars open until dawn nearby.

Package prices start from £593 per person including 12 hours kitesurf tuition, full equipment and wetsuit rental, IKO Kiteboarder card, beach transfers, airport transfers (excluding flights). Arrival: Our driver will pick you up from Izmir airport and drive you to your hotel (approx 1 hour)

Day 1: After breakfast and a brief orientation tour, you'll meet your instructor, get kited out and start the IKO course (3 hours). Enjoy a drink at the kite beach; drop off at your hotel late afternoon/early evening.
Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast transfer to the kite beach to continue with your IKO course (3 hours); unwind with a drink at the beach bar; drop off at your hotel late afternoon/early evening. Optional trip to the local hot springs.
Day 3: After breakfast transfer to the kite beach to continue with your IKO course (3 hours); enjoy a drink at the beach bar; drop off at your hotel late afternoon/early evening
Day 4: After breakfast transfer to the kite beach to complete your IKO course (3 hours); time to practice your skills and free-ride; drop off at your hotel late afternoon/early evening
Day 5: Take a day off to enjoy the local sights or laze on the beach; or join us at the kite beach to practice your skills and pick up more tips.
Day 6: Join us at the kite beach to practice your skills and pick up more tips. Farewell drinks at the kite beach.
Day 7: Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Izmir airport.

There is a wide choice of accommodation in the area - everything from luxury boutique hotels and beach resorts to small family-run guest-houses in the old village of Alacati. We also have rooms available on our school apartment for those on a tight budget.
