1 week Intermediate IKO Kitesurfing course

Perfect your kitesurfing skills quickly and safely in one of Europe's top kite surf locations. Our intermediate course is based on the official International Kite Organization (IKO) training program and can be specifically tailored to your skill level and requirements. The package is aimed at students who have some experience of kite boarding and who have mastered the basics of kite control and are able to body drag. It includes 4 hours tuition from our experienced IKO-Level 2 instructors, which will help you progress quickly and safely so you are up and riding quickly. We use specialist equipment including the latest North student kites, trainer boards and Headzone radio helmets.

Lessons are conducted in English, Turkish or German with a maximum group size of 4 people. Students receive an internationally recognized IKO Kite Boarder Card to certify their level of kite boarding on successful completion of the course.

Day 1: Transfer from airport. Orientation and relax, before exploring the lovely village of Alacati
Day 2: Transfer to the kite beach. Assessment by your instructor will be followed by a 2-hour lesson. Freeride practice time.
Day 3: Transfer to the kite beach. 2-hour lesson with your instructor followed by practice time.
Day 4: Day off for some sightseeing, to relax on the beach or to visit Efesus or Izmir.
Day 5: Transfer to the kite beach. Freeride practice time. Optional additional lesson with your instructor.
Day 6: Transfer to the kite beach. Freeride practice time. Optional downwind adventure session in the afternoon.
Day 7: Transfer to the kite beach. Freeride practice time and final assessment by your instructor. Issuing of IKO card.
Day 8: Transfer to Izmir airport for your flight home.

Our centre sits beside the warm, turquoise waters of Alacati Bay, a mecca for kiteboarders from across Europe thanks to the fantastic local conditions and great facilities. Alacati is a natural playground for kiteboarders thanks to its wide bay and the meltem, a seasonal climatic system that creates great wind throughout the summer, from May-October. The meltem wind is strong and stable funneled and accelerated by the surrounding hills - great for kiteboarders! It's reliable too, with over 21 windy days a month during the summer.

Alacati is a charming town located on the Cesme peninsular on Turkey's beautiful Aegean coast. The town's cobbled streets are lined with stone houses, shops and tavernas, and dotted with friendly guesthouses and boutique hotels. The shops sell local crafts, jewellery and antiques; while the village square is filled with market stalls and open-air cafes. There are many interesting sights and great beaches on the Cesme peninsular and plenty of other things to do, such as diving, sailing or visiting one of the local hot-springs. After dark, there are nightspots to suit all tastes, from friendly tavernas to slick cocktail bars, with a selection of nightclubs and beach bars open until dawn nearby.

There is a wide choice of accommodation in the area - everything from luxury boutique hotels and beach resorts to small family-run guest-houses with rooms from £20 per person. We also have a school apartment with self-catering rooms, for those on a tight budget. Contact us for special rates and booking. Note: accommodation gets booked-up solid for July & August, so contact us early.

A relaxed and friendly boutique hotel with pool in Alacati, nice selection of different rooms, 5 minutes walk to cafes, bars and restaurants, 5 minutes drive to windsurf centre and kite beach.

A small simple hotel with sea view rooms, very close to the surf beaches, 450 metres from the wind surf centres, our office and beach, 5 minutes drive from Alacati town.
