1 Week Learn to Kitesurf

6 days of as much kitesurfing instruction as you can manage in Tarifa. Most kitesurf courses give you only a limited amount of time under instruction often as little as 3 hours a day. We offer unlimited hours instruction, as long as there's wind and you have the energy, we'll be down the beach, getting you on the board. We're often teaching at the beach for as many as 9 hours a day, that's 3 days worth of courses at a regular kite school in one day, so you can imagine how fast you'll progress!

We make your kitesurf trip easy by arranging your accommodation at our spacious apartment in the centre of Tarifa. Here you can enjoy great views over the Straits of Gibraltar onto Morocco and the friendly atmosphere of living with your fellow students with the convenience of being 5 mins walk from the bars and restaurants of the old town and 2 mins walk from the beach. As if that wasn't enough we'll also take you to the beach each day and can even transfer you from the airport. Whats more if there's no wind we take you to the local wakeboard cable park to perfect your board skills and further reduce your learning time.

The biggest problem with conventional 3 hour a day learn to kitesurf courses is that it can take you forever to learn to kitesurf. Just as you start really learning the instructor calls time and thats it you have to pack up and go home even though the conditions have just become perfect and your raring to go? It can be amazingly frustrating to have nearly cracked your waterstarts only to have to finish because your time is up when you're sure if you had just a few more goes you would have nailed it. How can you guarantee that the 3 hours of the course (the timings of which are normally dictated by the kite school - not you) will be the best conditions for you on that particular day. All to often you'll be sat waiting for the wind while the clock and your money is ticking away. Thats why we at Tantrum Kitesurf have developed Unlimited Hours Instruction, we don't put any limits on your time under instruction so you can be sure you'll get the most out of each day in the best conditions possible. Our courses finish when you're ready, meaning you can be guaranteed of learning to kitesurf much, much quicker.

Courses run every day with lessons starting everyday from 11am (wind dependent) once at the beach we set up and start your kitesurfing lessons for the day. Teaching will potentially run until 8 in the evening, exact times will be dependent on conditions, and how much you've drunk the night before! We will break at about 3 - 4 o'clock each day for 1 hour so you can grab something to eat from the local beach bar and re-charge your batteries (this also gives your instructor a chance to get out and show off his/her latest move!). Instruction will run for as long as you have the energy or until the wind dies, we do not do 3, 4 or 6 hour courses we will be teaching you for as long as is physically possible, every day. We know you're here to learn to kitesurf and so we pack as much instructional time in as possible. If there's no wind we take you to the local wakeboard cable park to perfect your board skills and further reduce your learning time.

The course is run entirely at your pace, you may want to practice for all the hours of daylight and party all night in some of the best bars Tarifa has to offer, (our instructor will be more than willing to show these to you first hand!) or chill out on the beaches and practice at your leisure. . . no problem we're flexible to your needs. Whatever you fancy, we'll more than likely be out in the evening for tapas and a few beers and would love you to come along.

During your week you will develop the skills needed to become an independent rider.

* Day 1: Will take you through rigging up a kite, launching and landing and basic flying skills.
* Day 2: Will cover improving your skills with the kite, bodydragging and the waterstart, if conditions and time allow.
* Day 3: Will improve on your waterstarting skills and hopefully you will make your first steps towards riding independently.

The rest of the week will continue with honing your skills until hopefully you can return home an independent kitesurfer. (This is entirely dependent on conditions and individual skill levels). We use the latest IKO methodology, advanced training methods and the latest equipment to ensure you improve at the fastest possible rate.

* Unlimited hours instruction means you wont be sitting around in the wind waiting for your course to start, if there's wind we're at the beach
* Free daily beach transfers, don't worry about getting to and from the beach, we take care of it

Kitesurfing lessons will run in a variety of different locations and can be subject to change dependent on wind conditions; we go where the wind is best for you. But wherever we are, we will ensure you get back home safely and quickly upon completion of the course. You will also receive the official IKO card to prove your level, should you want to hire kit from your local shop

It doesn't end there either! Upon completion of your course. . if you're hooked. . . and we reckon you will be, we offer improver courses to take you all the way to becoming an independent rider.
