The road heading to the South will take travelers to the famed Omo Valley after passing different spectacular Rift Valley lakes. This part of the country is home to many diverse and fascinating peoples and culture- the Bume, the Karo, the Geleb, the Bodi, the Mursi, the Surma, the Aerbore and the Hamar, to name only a few.

   Itinerary & Highlights

  Day 1, arrival Arba Minch
Up on arrival be meet by staff of Off-Road Ethiopia tour and head to Arba Minch en route visit two of the crater lakes in the small town of Debre-Zeit and Rift Valley Lake of Langano. Overnight Tourist hotel (B, L, D)

Day 2, Arba Minch- Jinka
Take an early break fast and continue the drive to Jinka, one of the relatively big Town in the Omo Valley. This will be a day to admire the spectacular topography which continues to descend down to the Omo and characterized by warm temperature. If the day falls on Thursday there will be a colorful market in Key Afer where one can have the chance to see different tribes such as the Ari and Bena. Overnight Jinka resort Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 3, Jinka-Mago-Mursi-Jinka
After an early break fast in the hotel have a day excursion to the settlement of the Mursi people known for their lip plating, body decorating and stick fighting culture. Take time by having picture and personal contact with the people and back to Jinka. There is a picnic lunch en route. Overnight Jinka resort Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 4, Jinka- Turmi
After break fast in the hotel drive to Turmi, a settlement for the Hamer people very much known for their colorful hair style and bull jumping tradition at times of wedding. The ladies normally are adorned by leather made skirts decorated by sounding pearls and by gleaming aluminum normally fixed to their neck. If the day falls on Saturday there will be a colorful market in Dimeka where one can have the chance to see different tribes such as the Hammer and Tsemay Overnight Evangadi Lodge camping (B, L, D)

Day 5- Turmi- Murulle-Turmi
After an early break fast in the hotel head to Murulle, a settlement for the Karo people famous for their unique body decorating culture. En route have a picnic lunch. Start sight seeing in the two villages of Dus and Kolcho. Visit also Kngate, a settlement for the Bume people and back to Turmi for over night stay. Overnight Evangadi Lodge camping (B, D)

Day 6, Turmi- Omo rate- Turmi
After break fast in the camping area drive to Omo Rate, the final bordering zone of Ethiopia and Kenya. Cross the Omo River and visit the Geleb people and back to Turmi. Have lunch in the camping area and head to visit the Monday market of Turmi. Overnight Evangadi Lodge camping (B, L, D)

Day 7, Turmi-Arba Minch
Have break fast and head back to Arba Minch. En route visit the Erbore people which shares many cultural features with the Oromo people in Borena and continue driving to Konso, a settlement for the Konso people which has got real African village and are known for their grave signs. Take time of picture and visit in the village. Overnight Tourist Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 8, Arba Minch
Have a full day visit to the Nech sar National park and after lunch break head to Chencha, a settlement for the Dorze people famous for a Bamboo made bee-hive shaved houses. Overnight Tourist hotel (B, L, D)

Day 9, Arba Minch-Yirgalem
Drive from Arba Minch to Yirgalem. En route visit the hot spring at Wendo genet. Up on arrival in the Aregash Lodge have a walk in the near by forest to admire the bird populations. O/n Aregash Lodge

Day 10, Yirgalem- Addis Ababa
Drive back to Addis Ababa visiting the fish market of Awassa. Also visit the Rastafarians village which is located in Shashemene. Up on arrival in Addis have time of shopping and in the evening transfer to the Airport for departure back home.
