Ha Long Bay, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, covers an area of 1500 square km. with more than a thousand limestone peaks soaring from its crystalline emerald water. The calm sea provides an ideal location for sea kayaking as we paddle through a maze of islets amid dramatic natural scenery. With our modern kayaking equipment, we are able to maximize on speed and maneuverability as we paddle through the open sea and explore the many hidden lagoons and stalagmite caves that are difficult to access by any other means. After a day of paddling we unwind on our boat and enjoy dinner. As with our other Kayak tours, this tour offers flexibility in activity levels while still combining the best of sea kayaking. Designed with this in mind it is a good tour for both novice and experienced Kayaker alike with a little more time to spare.

Our equipment includes modern fiberglass kayaks. These are stable and safe with lightweight aluminium paddles. All passengers and guides are supplied with modern, international standard buoyancy vests. We also use lightweight tents, all of which are fitted with mosquito screens. In keeping with our philosophies on safety, our guides have been trained in basic first aid and CPR by an international medical clinic.

Itinerary & Highlights

Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay: Our first day starts with a three-hour drive to Ha Long City stopping on the way for some light refreshments and local hospitality. At Halong city we transfer to our private boat for a cruise in the stunning Halong Bay with a fresh local seafood lunch served on board. Our destination for today is the deserted beach of Ba Cat. Arriving around four p.m. we have a few hours spare to get accustomed to our Kayaking equipment and get a sample of what to expect from this World Heritage Listed area. We spend the night on board. (Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 2: Ba Cat - Nam Cat: On the way to today's destination, Nam Cat Beach we will visit some of the many lagoons for swimming and relaxing. Arriving around lunchtime or shortly after, we weigh anchor and have lunch. The afternoon is free then to explore the surrounding area before returning to the boat for the evening meal and relaxing. Day 3: Nam Cat - Ho Ba Ham Island: Once again we follow the routine of the previous morning before setting off in our Kayaks for approximately four hours paddling. Later in the afternoon we have the option of additional kayaking to explore the surrounding area. After our cooks have prepared our evening meal there is time to sit around on deck and chat with our guides and support staff. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 4: Ho Ba Ham Island Ha Long Bay: After breakfast we paddle some more around the bay including the impressive Luon Cave. Tonight we spend the final evening aboard our private boat. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 5: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi: Following breakfast this morning, we kayak around Luon Cave before returning to Halong Bay harbor where we meet with our vehicle for the 3hour drive back to Hanoi. (Breakfast and lunch included)
