Activity Weekend in The French Pyrenees Family Holiday
This weekend activity break is designed to make the very most of the towering peaks and stunning mountain scenery of the Pyrenees Orientales.
We provide a mix of extreme activities such as paragliding and canyoning with more gentle - yet no less popular pursuits - such as walking in the fabulous Gorges de la Caranca. Throw in a beautifully converted farmhouse, home cooked meals and free local wine and you have a weekend to remember.

Saturday: Arrival and Introduction
Sunday: Gorges de la Caranca, With wonderful views of the gorge and surrounding area, rope bridges and a path cut through the cliff face, this is not your average walk! Mountain Biking: we start at an altitude of 2100m for the 17km mountain bike descent into the beautiful Spanish town of Llivia where we visit a local tapas bar for a bite to eat and sangria. Transport is provided back up the mountain!
Monday: Tandem Paraglide Flight. The French Pyrenees offer a perfect setting for paragliding with great thermals and excellent weather conditions. An exhilarating experience and not to be missed with rarely seen views of France, Spain and Andorra. Canyoning: We head for one of two excellent canyons depending on the weather conditions. At Thues there is the fascinating experience of “hot canyoning” descending into warm thermal waters. Alternatively, the Porte Puymorens canyon offers great slides, abseils and an 11m jump!
Tuesday: Via Ferrata, Thermal Baths and Departure. Via Ferrata is a network of cables, obstacles, ladders and bridges built into the mountain which allow you to explore areas usually reserved for only the serious mountaineer. After the mountains, we visit the local thermal baths for a relaxing dip before returning to the airport for your return flights. |
