We visit the former coastal fortresses of Asilah, Rabat and Essaouira, the African crossroads of Marrakech, former camel caravan trading centres on the edge of the Sahara, the historically significant cities of Meknes and Fes and the mountain recluse-turned-hippie magnet of Chefchaouen.
