Skateboarding is one of the quintessential extreme sports. It is a relatively modern sport, originated as 'sidewalk surfing' in California in the 1950s, born out of surfing as something to do when there weren't any waves. It has gone on to establish itself as an individual sport in its own right ever since and has a strong following of young and old alike. From Half pipes, to street skating, to high speed downhill slalom, skateboarding is forever evolving and attracting fresh faces to this exciting sport. We are offering both a half day and full day intro skateboarding to give you the chance to challenge yourself and push yourself to the limit!

This is a fantastic half day experience to learn the basics of skateboarding. You will meet your instructors at the arranged time, at the designated skate park. You will be given your skateboard for the session as well as a helmet and pads. There will be a short safety brief and then it's time to show off those skills! The guys will go over some basic moves, balance techniques, how to control the board, how to stop safely, and how to turn the board, important when trying to avoid other people! They may also introduce tic tacking and how to perform a basic ollie. The session will last approximately 2 hours. You will then have time to spend the rest of the time practicing what you have learnt under the watchful eye of the instructors. Don't worry, you won't be let loose, they will point out mistakes and help put you straight. This is a really fun half day, and a great start to get you well on your way to tearing up the tarmac! |
