For the past decade we have known of a surf spot so lovely that when you catch a wave you can’t see the bottom of the wave because the water is so crystal clear. Finally we have decided to give you all a chance to visit and surf in a little hidden surf gem – The Bahamas.
Our surf holidays in the Bahamas are located on the island of Eleuthera which is considered to be one of the prettiest islands in the Bahamas, with its rolling green hills, sheltered coves, breathtaking bluffs and cliffs, inland lagoons and caves, and magnificent pink sand beaches that stretch for miles. The island is over 110 miles long but little more than a mile wide in most places - in certain spots on the island you can see the deep blue Atlantic Ocean and the calmer, aquamarine Bight of Eleuthera at the same time.
Whatever you desire, Surfing in Eleuthera has it all - spectacular beaches, great surf, tranquil coves, lush green forests, quaint historical settlements, and a relaxed, carefree atmosphere. The experience is one of simple, clean but basic accommodation. Each room has a fan instead of Air conditioning and the location is quiet and unspoilt on one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas.
Your surfing Bahamas surf holiday will be unique and very special and tailored for your level of experience be it the first time surfer or the advanced surfer who needs for little.
Whilst on our surfing experience we use only the freshest available ingredients which are combined in interesting, healthy ways to make delicious, satisfying meals that give you energy! Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and salads, fish, chicken, eggs, native herbs and spices are just some of the staples of our "adventure food". Thirsty? Our surf facilities has soft drinks and water available at all times.
In the evenings at the we will offer you a bottle of wine per couple with your dinner. If you would like particular alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, they can be purchased at a local store before we head to surf camp. We can cater to vegetarians and those with other special dietary needs if you let us know at the time you make your booking. Dinner is occasionally served at our seaside dining table with the fresh air and surf in the back ground.
Our surf guides know where all the best breaks are and under what swell, tide and wind conditions they work best. More often than not Pure Vacations surfing customers have these breaks all to ourselves. At night we enjoy sitting under the stars and listening to the surf roll in. When the surf is flat or for a change of pace, we go snorkelling, fishing, kayaking, or exploring caves, blue holes and beautiful beaches. We also have a quality selection of surfboard rental available locally if you do not wish to bring your own, mountain bike rentals and discounted adventure trips for Pure Vacations surfing guests. Kitchen facilities are open to all guests as well.
We also offer “Surf School Packages”. Our instructors stress safety, fun and learning in good beginner conditions and with good beginner equipment. Half of your 5-hour day goes towards putting into practice what you’ve learned that day on longboards or short boards. The other half goes toward learning surfing skills like paddling, entry and exit techniques, duck-diving, wave selection, and catching and riding waves. Learn to surf trips generally depart at 10 am and return at 2:30 pm but allowances will be made for tides and surf conditions.
We take care of everything from start to finish and we provide all on-island transportation, accommodation, meals, refreshments, and activity equipment. Getting to Eleuthera is easy on direct daily flights from South Florida or daily high-speed catamaran service from Nassau.
