Friday
Night Canoeing
Transfers from Trieste Airport to your accommodation where an introductory meeting and dinner are followed by night canoeing. We follow a gentle 4km stretch of river in inflatable kayaks with only the stars in the Slovenian night sky to light our way. Watch out for shooting stars, the record on this descent is 10.
Saturday
Rafting & Hydrospeeding
What better way to explore one of the most beautiful rivers in the world? Upstream, where the rapids are gentler, we introduce a few games between rafts before the serious work starts further downstream. There will be little time to admire the towering peaks of the Julian Alps as we negotiate the fast, white water rapids of the Soca.
After lunch, we take to the river again for the most extreme activity of the weekend. Hydrospeeding has been described as “descending the river on a tea tray”. This is you and the river up close and personal. It’s sheer breathless adrenaline from start to finish.
Sunday
Kayaking & Canyoning
Kayaking can be seriously addictive and there can be few better ways of discovering any river than under your own steam. After some initial tuition we will try a descent of a Grade I & II stretch of the River Soca. It’s heaven!
Following lunch we head for the Trebusa Canyon where we have sole access rights. After a 20 minute uphill walk to our start point we descend the canyon via a series of slides, jumps, ducks and dives culminating in an exhilarating rope-assisted descent of a 27m waterfall. The conversation at this evening’s farewell dinner will undoubtedly be fuelled with extreme feats of derring-do!

The base for this holiday is the 3-star Hotel Krn in Tolmin. The hotel has large en-suite rooms which are simply but comfortably furnished. The friendly bar and terrace are perfect for those relaxing sundowners after an energetic day in Slovenia’s great outdoors. |
