Itinerary / Highlights
Day 1: Arrival in the afternoon. Meet your hosts and enjoy a delicious dinner (bring your own wine). OvernightDay 2: Explore Mont Megantic. You leave the Auberge with your walking guide M. Gilles Leclerc, a native to the area. You will visit the trails of Mont Megantic, just at the top of Mont St-Joseph. In this serene national park, you will enjoy visiting his astronomy lab museum to discover the science of the universe. The altitude is 3500 feet. You will enjoy your lunch, a picnic with healthy food and a beautiful view.
Day 3: Walk on Mont Saint Sebastien. Just nearby the inn is an Appalachain mountain, where you will receive his Granite Rock interpretation. Walk on wild trails where the views are astounding. Many surprising spots are exposed just for you, where wild lakes decorate this ecological territory. Visit the Granite Museum and the artifact boutique.
Day 4: Mont Coleraine is nearby the area of Thetford Mines, surrounded by lush pine forest. These trails are very well landscaped and many present a unique environment and view. Take a breath and admire the incredible view. The serenity is insurmountable while you will enjoy the botanical forest which is well preserved and conserved.
Day 5: Mont Gosford. In the middle of the Appalachian mountain chain, come to visit this wonderful trail nearby the Lake Megantic. On these trails you will discover a virgin forest, with spruce trees and maple syrup bushes. Have a picnic with Gilles in the surrounding woods.
Day 6: The National Park of Frontenac is a National Reserve of Wildlife. A massive lake appears on the majority of the reserve. Many trails are available around the lake, where large ponds are situated to visit ducks, great heron, birds and sometimes deer caught crossing the trails. A very pleasant beach awaits you just after the walk for some swimming time. You can also rent a canoe or kayak. This place reflects tranquility and a goal of preserving nature.

The lodging for the week is at a small B&B. The Auberge has air-conditioning in every room for those hot summer nights!
Meals: Your pallet will delight in the gourmet meals that consist of homegrown vegetables, homemade "Duck Foie Gras", Buffalo steaks, Venison and poultry. Organic veggetables will be served whenever possible, meats from the farm, local cheeses.
**Vegetarians can be catered to as well.
This trip includes and can accommodate special dietary requests.
