Bangkok to Phuket Cycling Adventure

This SpiceRoads tour visits the western coastline of the country. It's a scenic and awe-inspiring adventure with seemingly endless beach views. You'll ride through quaint little villages and rest in world-class resort areas prominent for their natural attractions and beauty. Most roads are flat and fast with only a few areas of climbing or hills. Many of the visited areas are noted for producing some of the best seafood dishes in the world.

Explore the culture along the coasts and beaches. Local residents are relaxed and friendly as they are used to the slow pace of living near the beaches. It is a decidedly slower way of life in dire contrast to the hustle and buzz of life in Bangkok.

You'll be able to take in some spectacular coastline scenery, be surrounded by statuesque peaks, and wiggle your toes in Thailand's soft and warm sand. The tour has a great variety of riding.

TRIP PROFILE:-
This tour is 99% on road and the route was designed for road bikers (roadies) in mind. Essentially, it is a road tour, but MTB's are welcomed. This trip follows the western coastline of Thailand and gives you unbeatable scenery and ideal riding conditions.

Due to the distances, some of the rides are definitely tough. There are some hills mainly on day 6, 7 and 9 with the day 9 having some steep but short hills that take us along the coast road to Karon beach.

Itinerary / Highlights

Day 1 Transfer from Bangkok to Petchaburi and ride to the beach resort town of Hua Hin.
Day 2 Ride from Hua Hin through a national park to Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Day 3 Cycle from Prachuap Khiri Khan to fishing village of Ban Krut.
Day 4 Rest day at natural boutique beach resort.
Day 5 Ride along the coast to Chumpon and overnight at yet another beautiful beach resort.
Day 6 Cross the Isthmus of Kra to Ranong and enjoy hot springs at the hotel.
Day 7 Rolling hills give us fantastic views our cycle to Khuraburi.
Day 8 Continue riding south from Khuraburi to Khao Lak.
Day 9 Cross Sarasin bridge and ride to Surin beach on Phuket island.
Day 10 Rest and relax in Phuket. Extend or transfer for onward travel.

Only two nights are spent at hotels with less than a 3-star rating. All have a swimming pool to relax in after riding.
