Staggering variety ? dramatic waterfalls,

In the far south of the country you’ll be awe-struck by the sheer power and size of the Iguacu waterfalls – the world’s biggest - before continuing to Rio, one of the world’s most evocative cities. Take the cable-car to the top of Sugarloaf, stand at the foot of the statue of Christ the Redeemer and challenge the locals to a game of beach football! Last stop on this journey is Ilha Grande, with time to relax on its famous beaches. If you opt for the Amazon itinerary you’ll adventure up-river from Manaus to discover this mysterious world. Keep your eyes peeled for monkeys and macaws as you explore the jungle trails before drifting off to sleep to the sounds of the local wildlife.

Brazilian Beaches

Some of the best beaches in Brazil are found in Ilha Grande, notably Lopes Mendes Beach. Until recently there was no tourism at all on the island and there is still very little development. There are no roads and jst one small town - from here you would take a boat to get to Lopes Mendes, where the only development is a small hut selling basic food & drink. This is like Copacabana Beach without the buildings - paradise!
Iguacu Falls

The most spectacular sight in Latin America (if not the world) has got to be Iguacu Falls - visit from both sides as you will find out it's actually made up of many waterfalls, each with a name and different charateristics. The 'three brothers' is a collection of 3 narrow falls side by side and then of course there is the 'devil's throat' where the water tumbles into a crack creating spectacular spray.

The Brazilian side of the falls give you a full frontal and panormaic view whilst the Argentinian side has walkways taking you in and around the falls so prepare to get wet!
