About the hotel
The Breede river resort and Fishing Lodge is truly a exceptional holiday venue, set amongst roliing wheat land in Southern cape, on the banks of the mighty Bredde river, a scant kilometre from the mouth, with roliing breakers, sandy white beaches, and a most beautiful Estuary.The hotel is situated in a conservancy area, a natures lover's paradise., part of the eco organization, and surrounded by game animal and floral reserves. Our excursions take you from fishing in the mile wide river, to watching whales in St Sebastian Bay, Southern Africa's largest nursery area for the Southern right and sperm whales. You can also choose atrip to historic Swellendam, and the neighboring wine lands, or to the De hoop coastal Fynbos and Marine Reserve.The restaurant offers delectable Cape Country cuisine. Full South African breakfasts and light meals are served daily. Fully equipped and multifunctional Main Seminar room seating up to 40 delegates Breakaway room seating up to 12 delegates.
Directions
Take the N2 to George. Travel through Riviersonderend (166km from Cape Town) and Swellendam (90km from Witsand). 1st Turnoff (R324 - WitsandPort Beaufort) is gravel road all the way to the lodge. 2nd Turnoff +- 40km after Swellendam (R322 - WitsandPort Beaufort) - 3km before Heidelberg, is a tarred road all the way to the lodge. Turn right off the N2. Drive about 37km to Witsand. Cross the 4-way stop and find the lodge (+- 22m down) on the bank of the river on your left.
