   Itinerary & Highlights

No visit to South Africa is complete without seeing the big game of Kruger. Spot the Big 5 and explore the highlights of this region.

Day 1, Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Shangaan Cultural village
Leaving Johannesburg behind we enter the land of the rising sun, Mpumalanga. Here we travel the Panorama route to take in many breathtaking sights. Blyde River Canyon is the third largest in the world and as we view its beauty from high on a vista we can also see the lowveld of the Greater Kruger region unfold before us. Delving into the canyon we gaze at the curious rock formations of Bourkes Luck Potholes before travelling further to our cultural village accommodation. We have an evening of education and entertainment before going to sleep in a traditional village rondavel.

Day 2 - 3, Kruger National Park
We have an early breakfast before travelling to the world renowned Kruger National Park. This is big game territory, hopefully we will see some of the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and the buffalo. The Kruger is home to over 507 species of birds, 147 species of mammals and many reptiles. We spend our time here game driving in the mornings and late afternoons. Whilst in the park you have the option of going on a early morning guided game walk or night drive (subject to availability).

Day 4, Kruger National Park, Jo’burg
We complete our Kruger NP experience with an early morning game drive before heading back to Johannesburg.

NB: Tour COK4B substitute the cultural experience for a private game reserve lodge bordering the Kruger National Park on the evening of day one. We check into our comfortable chalets before embarking on a night game drive. On the morning of day 2 we have the opportunity of trekking for game on foot before arriving at Kruger National Park for lunch.
