   Itinerary & Highlights

  Day One - Cape Town
Welcome! On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Cape Milner Hotel for your 4 night's accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

Cradled beneath the majestic Table Mountain in Cape Town's trendy suburb of Tamboerskloof, lies the Cape Milner. Extensively refurbished, this exquisite hotel offers a sophisticated and contemporary ambience with the highest standards in style and luxury. The hotel is renowned for excellent service, a chic atmosphere and stunning interior decor and was voted one of South Africa's best boutique hotels by acclaimed local magazine House and Leisure.

Day Two - Cape Town
After breakfast you set off this morning for Royal Cape Golf Club.

With lovely views of Table Mountain from most holes this championship course offers a beautiful setting that will make your visit here truly memorable.
Royal Cape Golf Club is a true championship course having hosted the South African Open no less than ten times and the SA Amateur Championships eight times. The most recent SA Open held here was in 1996 and was won by Ernie Els.

This is the oldest course in South Africa, with a colonial style club house. So if Ernie Els and Gary Player can play here what price you?

Extensive work was done on the greens in 2000 to bring them up to the USGA standards and the course today is a fine test of golf and worthy of its championship rating. Essentially it is a very flat parkland course, well maintained and a pleasure to play with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. But don't be deceived by its apparent easiness. The fairways are narrow, demanding extreme accuracy off the tee, wayward shots can be heavily penalized amongst the trees and the greens are well bunkered. I can already see you striking a low and accurate three iron away down the first!

Day Three - Cape Town
This morning after breakfast set off for Clovelly Country Club.

Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek in Cape Town lies Clovelly Country Club. With one of the finest and scenically attractive golf courses in South Africa, Clovelly offers its members and visitors a memorable experience.

Views over False Bay and features such as "Bobby's Bar" in the clubhouse, named after the Great Bobby Locke, will definitely get the attention of the thirsty golf tourist. The 9 th hole, a demanding par 5 to tempt the longer hitters, could create many points for discussion at "Bobby's Bar" after the round!

Clovelly - like fine Cape wines - improves steadily with age, and its vintage and quality is well established throughout South Africa, and indeed, beyond our shores. This reputation is founded on the warmth of Clovelly's "family" character, its outstanding facilities, and steps we have taken, such as opening the Club to all irrespective of race, creed or gender, to ensure that Clovelly truly reflects the high ideal of its motto: "Fraternitas Ludorum".

Day Four - Cape Town
Today you will explore Milnerton Golf Course, an 18-hole, par 72 seaside course situated in a leafy suburb just 10 minutes north of the city of Cape Town. Surrounded by natural beauty, the course is a pleasure to the senses and a challenge to even the most experienced golfer - especially when the prevailing South Easter, affectionately known as the "Cape Doctor" - makes her house calls in the summer months!

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the RietVlei River, this lush links-type course is relatively flat with few trees. But with the sea and the lagoon bordering most holes, and the 7 beautiful water holes waiting to claim the wayward shot, it offers a truly unique golfing experience! Typical of many links-type courses, you will play the first 9 holes out, enjoy a light meal at the halfway house (not included) and then return back to the clubhouse via the second 9. On most holes, the sound of the waves breaking on the shore just metres away will remain long after your game is over. The spectacular view of Table Mountain from almost every hole is breathtaking, while the nature lovers will be thrilled at the abundance of water birds on the bordering river.

Punch those 7 irons to keep your shots under the wind!

Day Five - Cape Town & Paarl-Franschhoek
Today you will check out Cape Milner Hotel and set off to Pearl Valley Golf Estate in Paarl in the Winelands.
Although no individual can lay claim to the overall design of Pearl Valley, the masterplan was shaped by the vision of Jack Nicklaus.
His unique touch is evident at Pearl Valley Golf Estates. This golf legend sees the Pearl Valley course as the sum of his knowledge and his experience.

Officially opened at the beginning of November, 2003 by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, Pearl Valley Golf Estates was named 'best new golf course of the year' by Golf Digest magazine in 2005.
Every hole is played against the spectacular backdrop of the mountains surrounding the estate and all are challenging due to the bunkers and fast greens. The course has been designed with the area's prevailing winds in mind; the winter north-westerly and the summer south-easterly. All par 3s and par 5s play in different directions, ensuring that the same conditions are not experienced too many times in one round.

With wine in touching distance you will need all your powers of concentration to complete this round!

After this thrilling experience you will set off for Franschhoek. Founded by French Huguenots over 350 years ago, Franschhoek is widely regarded as the culinary capital of South Africa, and its beautiful setting and café lined streets will charm you. You will check in at Le Franschhoek for our 1 night's accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa is nestled amongst the beautiful vineyards of the Franschhoek Valley, surrounded by mountains. Le Franshhoek consists of 63 luxurious and stylish en-suite rooms, with the added luxury of air-conditioning and under floor heating.

The décor combines contemporary Euro-classicism with modern Cape touches, to create a chic yet comfortable hotel. Guest can enjoy many facilities including cigar lounge, tennis courts, swimming pool and bicycle rides to nearby wineries.

Day Six - Franschhoek - George

Today after breakfast you check out Le Franschhoek and set off for George via the spectacular Franschhoek Pass giving you magnificent views over the Winelands en route to the Garden Route. You pass through the towns of Swellendam - well known for its historical Cape Dutch Architecture -, Heidelberg - a picturesque town nestled between the Langeberg mountains and the sea -, Riversdale - the floral paradise of the Garden Route - to Mossel Bay - with stunning beaches and its famous Post Office Tree - on our way to George.

George is Cape Garden Route's commercial centre with fascinating museums and well known for its spectacular golf courses.

You check in at Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate for our 2 night's accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.
The Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate lies at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains. A combination of Old World charm and contemporary luxury is what makes the Fancourt Hotel so distinctive. At Fancourt, guests can choose between a room in the beautifully restored Manor House or one of the many stately Garden Suites and Studios. All rooms have air-conditioning, satellite television, telephone, mini-bar and in room safety boxes. Services include a VIP lounge at George Airport, room service, valet, conferencing and corporate entertaining facilities, golf shops, kids club, mini-cinema, billiard room and jewellery shop. The Fancourt also has a fully equipped health spa which includes a gym, indoor roman bath and Jacuzzi, hair salon and ladies boutique. The property has 4 Gary Player designed 18-hole golf courses as well as tennis courts, outdoor swimming pools, indoor heated pools and running/walking trails. The Fancourt also offers guests the opportunity to dine in any of their 5 uniquely different restaurants or enjoy a drink in any of their 3 bars.

After check in prepare for a round at Fancourt's famous Outeniqua or Montagu golf courses.

There is no doubt that Fancourt is South Africa's premier golf resort, featuring three highly rated Championship golf courses as well as the Western Cape's premier 18-hole public course. Since opening in the early 90's with just 27 Gary Player-designed holes, Fancourt's Outeniqua and Montagu golf courses have matured and developed into two of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts in the country. A round on either is a special experience, sculpted and finished as they are with rare attention to detail and designed with the coastal George winds in mind. The Links at Fancourt was added in 2000, an awe-inspiring example of magnificent design and golf-course construction, about which designer Gary Player says: "Links golf is how the game originated and at The Links we take golfers back to the roots of golf - and they can play a 'British Open' all of their own!"

Day Seven - George
After breakfast get ready for another round at Fancourt's famous Outeniqua or Montagu golf courses.
