Community Building and Teaching In South Africa

Building and Teaching Projects.

We offer an opportunity to get involved in Community Building and Teaching in small township areas on the Western Cape where you will become fully integrated with local communities. Working together with international and local organisations you will be helping to build small houses and improve basic infrastructure for local communities in these settlement areas. Living as part of a group together with your Crew Leader, you will work alongside local villagers and skilled craftsmen to complete the Project as well as interacting with local schoolchildren and community groups to create a unique cultural experience.

Conservation Projects.By teaming up with local authorities elsewhere in South Africa, Madventurer offer the chance to become involved in Community Projects in areas linked to conservation. This will involve building and improving local infrastructure to give increased access to wildlife areas, promoting conservation tourism and environmental awareness among the local communities. You'll work with local villagers and schoolchildren, as well as park rangers and wildlife specialists to help on-going animal conservation programmes.

Length of Project.
Our volunteer projects operate in six week blocks. We try to plan it to make sure the project you are working on comes to completion within a six week block. This stops projects from dragging on, meaning the communities feel the benefit as soon as possible; it also means you will leave with a greater sense of achievment.

You can join the projects for the following lengths of time:-
- Two Week - you can choose between the first or the last two weeks of a six week block
- Four Week - the first four weeks of the six week block only
- Six Weeks - see the project from the start to finish

Days 2 - 13: First two weeks volunteering
Day 14: End of two week project
Days 14 - 27: Second two weeks volunteering
Day 28: End of four week project
Days 28-41: Final two weeks volunteering
