Itinerary / Highlights

Sunday - Arrive at Al-mudawar Hotel. Arrival drinks and talk on what the week will entail

Monday - This day we will take a walk up the hill to the stunning castle of Almodovar Del Rio. This is a popular local attraction as has been beautifully renovated. Afterwards we will walk to a restaurant for lunch and then visit the lovely botanical gardens.

Tuesday - Today starts with a fun way of seeing the sites in Cordoba using a wonderful easy Segway guided tour. After a 5 minute video and a 10 minutes practical training session, you will be ready to enjoy Cordoba from a different point of view. (photos below).
After this we can visit the main sites on foot focusing on the 8th century Great Mosque (Mezquita de Cordoba) and the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos.

Wednesday - Day off to explore Cordoba City or for those wanting to relax you have full use of either the private pool next to the hotel or full use of the club at the Xtreme-Gene watersport centre where you can swim, sunbath, kayaks.

Thursday - In the morning you visit the archaeological site of Medina Azahara the original city of Cordoba, it is a palace-town built by Abderrahman III from 936 onwards. In 1010 it was destroyed by the Almoravids and thereafter used as a quarry of building material; as a result it is now largely in ruins but a fascinating site.
The afternoon will be spent in Cordoba wine / fino tasting.

Friday - Walk in Natural Park or caves / Visit Oil factory.

Saturday - Home

Additional Activities : any days can be changed for other activities (see list) this is dependant on group size and other previous bookings on any given week but we will do all we can to accommodate your requests and will advise at time of enquiry what is available.

Accommodation Details

This is a new guest house conveniently located in Almodovar Del Rio town center. It is a typical Spanish house cleverly restored with a Moroccan twist. It has 10 bedrooms and all rooms have air conditioning, TV with English channels and en suite bathrooms.

Guests have use of the indoor patio and roof terrace. There is also a dining room and small lounge with internet connection. It is owned and managed by a friendly Spanish couple who speak good English.
