Bicycling the capitol from end to end


From Hlemmur we catch a ride with the local bus to Vatnsendi by the Ellidavatn Lake on the outskirts of Reykjavik.

Travelling through the area gives an interesting insight into the fast transformation of rural Iceland into urbanic Reykjavik. Then we zoom along the Ellidaa the only inner city salmon fishing river in the world and Iceland's first hydro plant. Continuing to oskjuhlia area we visit the Pearl, a glass dome, viewing the capitol and its surroundings through binoculars of the balcony.

After enjoying the spectacular view of the Capital area we ride down to the seaside and cycle along the shore visiting the lighthouse at Grotta beach.

Our trip ends downtown Reykjavik in Explore's favorite bar & grill, first beer is included in the trip...
