Montana has so many sights you'll want to visit, such as Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, numerous stops along the Lewis & Clark Trail, wilderness areas, historic towns, and much much more.
With lots of open space, crystal fresh air and a landscape that invites you to explore; Montana is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. There is camping, hiking, fishing or picnicking in Montana's National Parks, Indian Reservations, National Forests, State Parks, or National Wildlife Refuges.
Or, if you enjoy the personal challenge of the "extreme" sports you can pit yourself against the rugged terrain while mountain biking, mountain climbing, whitewater rafting, or when the snow flies swooshing off the mountaintops. And of course the your adventure appetite can be well and truly quenched in partaking one of our ranches of the "old west".
In our Montana ranches, you can watch cowboys in action at the rodeo or if you desire something more extraordinary you can join a cattle drive. Montana is rich in culture and there's a lot of great places to visit, museums, mansions, and archeology sites.

Details
300 mother cows are run on 5000 acres that still show the ruts of the old Bozeman Trail. If still alive, Plenty Coups, the Crow Chief who became the chief of all Indian tribes, and Will James, the famous cowboy artist and author, who rode the hills with Grandpa Blackmore and chased wild mustangs, would be neighbors today.
From the ranch headquarters, you can view most of the ranch, which extends to the mountain top. On the ranch, every beautiful season has its own special work waiting. In early spring, there is calving. When the snow melts and wildflowers bloom, it will be branding time. In summer there are tall grass, cowboy camp-outs and cattle to move. Later, when the air is crisp and leaves turn golden, the roundups begin.
You will have your own cow horse, and will be horseback most days. There is plenty of cattle work , including gathering, roundups, cattle drives, brandings and doctoring. There is feeding and other regular chores - and occasional days off haying & fencing. There will be campfires, pack trips, and overnight campouts (not always offered) - up in the Pryor Mountains, and sometimes up in the Castle Rock Gap, where the Indian legends says the "little people" live.
Accommodations are modest, simple and clean. There are a couple of guest bedrooms in the main Ranch house, and there is a bunkhouse next door, with 3 bedrooms. Our cabins (4) have shared bath facilities with single and queen size beds. We also have a shower house for men and for women. We have now more beds than we want to fill with guests, which gives our guests better choices. Good cowboy style home cooking is served up 3 times a day
You may want to do some target shooting - or if you want a relaxing lazy vacation, there are less demanding activities that anyone can enjoy. The large riding arena will allow for some brushing up on your Western skills. You may want to learn to rope, or get in on some natural horsemanship techniques of a "horse whisperer"(riding and training). Here they are practiced and you can learn them, too!
