DAYS 1 - 6, Kasane, Nata, Kruger Private Reserve, Mpumalanga, Johannesburg
We depart Livingstone and enter Botswana, camping near Kasane beside the Chobe River. We drive south from here around the Kalahari via Nata & Francistown into South Africa and to our private reserve bordering Kruger. We spot nocturnal creatures on a night drive and search for the ‘Big Five’ the next day in Kruger National Park. We then head to Johannesburg.
DAY 7, Johannesburg
This day is left free for you to enjoy Johannesburg.
DAYS 8 - 14, Kruger National Park, Maputo, Swaziland, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, Durban
We return to Kruger National Park for more wildlife encounters before crossing into Mozambique and to the capital, Maputo. We sample its Afro-Portuguese vibe, colourful markets and great local beaches. In Swaziland we stay at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary amongst blesbok and ostriches in the royal Ezulwini Valley. We re-enter South Africa and watch rhinos on game drives in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. Passing through Zululand we arrive in ‘Sunshine City’ Durban.
DAYS 15 - 21, Wild Coast, Addo Elephant National Park, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Winery, Cape Town
We discover remote beaches and villages along the Wild Coast before meeting Africa’s gentle giants in Addo Elephant National Park. We then hit the Garden Route, hiking coastal forest trails in Tsitsikamma, checking out the highest bungy jump in the world and visiting Cango Caves and an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn. There’s a final stop at a winery in Stellenbosch before our arrival in Cape Town.
