The wind in Dakhla is fuelled by the heat of the Sahara and blows all year round, consistently...to have more than 1 day a week of no wind is highly unusual. The wind blow's from 17 - 35 kts but is most consistently around 25kts, blowing stronger in the summer (July - Sept) so come armed with a variety of kites. The winter (Dec - Mar) brings the waves, anything up to 12 ft, as the Atlantic ocean crashes into the other side of the peninsula, just a few kilometers drive from the resort, so if your coming at this time of year some sort of wave/surf board is a must, which of course can be hired from our on site shop.
The temperature is a fairly constant 28 degrees all year round and the water remains at about 18-20 degrees. Kiterush Dakhla is home to our IKO Kite school fully equipped with the latest bow kites and staffed by fully qualified instructors who will guide you tif neccessary.

Kiterush Dakha comprises an on site shop and kit storage area, accomodation comes in the form of traditional Saharan tents and our site is fully equipped with hot showers and western style toilet facilities, fridges, solar panels and a generator. You will find coverage for mobile phones at the camp and their is a place to charge them or any laptops etc you care to bring. For the evenings the resort has a book swap library, DVD and Xbox lounge and most nights we have a camp fire.
Kiterush Dakhla is positioned on the lagoon side of the peninsula. The lagoon is home to dolphins, whales, flamingos and a huge variety of marine life. The resort is perfectly placed to be kiteable in any wind direction. There are also opportunities for sand boarding, camel rides, dolphin and whale watching, big game fishing and extreme 4x4 action all within a short drive...which of course we provide. If all this gets too much for you, why not head into Dakhla itself for a couple of days relaxation at the Sahara Regency hotel, Dakhla's only 4 star hotel and one of the few places outside our resort you're able to sit in the bar and enjoy a a beer, here you will also find great food and experience the hospitality that has made Morocco famous |
