Surf Zone offers a range of the latest quality rental equipment for those Kiter’s who CAN kite surf. Please note for safety reasons, kite material is only rented out to kite surfers that can go out and come back to same place on a board, safely. They must also be able to re launch their kite in deep water.
Rental Kites: 2007/08 Ozone and Naish: 7 to 15 meter kites
Rental Boards: 2007/08 Naish Sol &Haze, Crazy Fly: Size range 124 by 35 to 148 by 50
Renters are welcome to change kite sizes depending on wind conditions and what is available. Long term renters are also welcome to take their equipment back to their accommodation with them, however a 250euro deposit or ID must be left as security.
Most people prefer to kite surf at one of three locations. In the Bay of Santa Maria (wind side off shore beginning of Bay and side on shore at end of the Bay), at Kite beach, which is a 10min drive from the school (wind side-on shore) or at Punta Preta (wind side off shore) with is a 5min drive from the Santa Maria school.
We recommend you bring your own shortie, harness, leash and helmet.
*** On days with no wind surfers are welcome to use one of Surf Zone many surf or body boards
