Erta'ale is one of the new attractions in the region, where travellers witness an active fire volcanic activity on mountains top with dramatic view during night time. Day 1- Arrival
Up on arrival, be meet and transfer to Hotel. O/n Addis View Hotel
Day 2- Addis Ababa- Awash
Drive to Awash. En route visit the crater lakes of Debre-Zeit. Also visit the Awash National Park
Day 3- Awash- Semera
Drive to Semera, the Capital city for Afar people. Finalize permission to Erta’ale. O/n Camping
Day 4- Semera-Afdera
Drive to Afdera. Up on arrival visit the Salt extraction from Afdera Lake. O/n Camping
Day 5- Afdera-Erta’ale
Drive to the small village of Dodom. In the evening start trekking up to Erta’ale Mountain to see the active Volcano. The whole night is dedicated for picturing. O/n Camping
Day 6- Erta’ale-Dallol
Trek back to Dodom and start driving to Dallol, the lowest point on earth below seas level. Admire the surrounding and also the salt extraction on Lake Assale. O/n Camping
Day 7- Dallol- Mekelle
Drive up to Mekelle. En route visit the Camel caravans heading to Mekelle with Bars of slats. O/n Atse Axum Hotel
Day 8- Mekelle- Lalibela
Drive to Lalibela via the Sekota road. En route visit the Cave church of Nakutola’ab. O/n Jeruslame Guest House
Day 9- Lalibela
Full day visit to the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. O/n Jeruslame Guest House
Day 10- Lalibela-Mekelle
Drive back to Mekelle. O/n Atse AxumHotel
Day 11- Mekelle- Axum
Drive to Axum. En route visit the Debre-Damo Monastery (Open only for men), the Negash mosque and Yeha Temple. O/n Remhay Hotel
Day 12- Axum
Full day city tour of Axum
Day 13- Axum- Semien Mountains
Drive to Sankaber. Admire the colony of gelada baboon and the scenery. O/n Camping
Day 14- Semien Mountains-Gondar
Drive to Gondar. En route visit the Felasha, Ethiopian Jews Village. O/n Bakaffa Hotel
Day 15- Gondar
Sightseeing to the castles, bathing pool and church of Debre-Birhan Selassie. O/n Bakaffa Hotel
Day 16- Gondar- Bahir Dar
Drive to Bahir Dar. Up on arrival visit the open-air market place of Bahir Dar. O/n Dib Anbessa Hotel
Day 17- Bahir Dar
Fully day sight seeing to the Island Monastery of Lake Tana and Blue-Nile falls. O/n Dib Anbessa Hotel
Day 18- Bahir Dar- Addis Ababa
Drive back to Addis Ababa. En route visit the Blue-Nile gorge and Debre-Libanos Monastery. Up on arrival have time of shopping and traditional dinner with live traditional dancing show. |
