Itinerary / Highlights
Day 1 Marrakech/ Essaouira-Depart Marrakech by local express coach to beautiful seaside Essaouira. The name 'Essaouira' means 'beautifully designed', an appropriate name for such a picturesque town. Sheltered by Mogador Island and dotted with riads, fishing boats and winding alleys, Essaouira's charm is undeniable. Within the stone ramparts you'll find whitewashed houses with bright blue shutters, art galleries and wood workshops, all of which will be explored in the company of an expert local guide. Outside the ramparts is stunning coastal views and 18th century sea walls that have inspired artists and writers alike over the centuries.
Day 2 Essaouira-
Start the morning with a walk along the walls to watch colourful fishing boats re-entering the harbour. Then head off to explore the nearby Berber village of Diabat once a favourite town of the hippy movement on bicycle. In the evening be sure to head to the ramparts for views over town and sea and try some fresh seafood from local restaurants.
Day 3 Essaouira/ Marrakech-
There's a final chance to shop in the markets and galleries for paintings, leather babouches or handicrafts before bidding this charming seaside town farewell. Transfer back to the airport or hotel in Marrakech by local coach.
