Day 1- ADDIS ABABA
Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole international airport and transfer to your hotel. O/n Global Hotel (4 star hotel)/Ghion Hotel
Day 2 Bahirdar
Drive in the morning to the Portuguese Bridge, The Blue Nile Gorge and The most important monastery of the medieval time-Debre Libanos-Once it was a popular monastery in the Ethiopian History. Overnight Tana Hotel
Day 3 - Bahir Dar
Full day in Bahir Dar (Set at 1,830 m. above sea level) an attractive town with tree-lined avenues and the deep blue lake in the background. Lake Tana is Ethiopia's largest lake and is dotted with islands.
In the morning depart by boat to visit the Zege peninsula for monasteries of Ura Kidanemihret, and the monastery of Kibran Gebriel to see mural paintings, crowns, crosses etc. After lunch visit the local market, the Woito village (where the local people make the Papyrus boat) and Blue Nile Falls. Day 4 Gondar
Drive to Gondar and visit the castle and the church of Debre Berhan Selasse and the Bath of king Fasiledes and the Felasha village. Overnight Goha hotel
Day 5 –Sankaber 3230m
In the morning Drive to Sankaber 3230masl through a beautiful scenery and the villages of Falasha (Ethiopian Jews) Overnight Camping at Sankaber
Day 6- Chenek (3600masl)
After breakfast trek to Chenek 3600masl through bushes, falls, dawn streams and the pillars of mountains, this will take 6-8hrs to the camping site. In the after noon walk around the camping area where we see the endemic Walia Ibex and Galada baboon and birds like thick billed raven, lammergeyers, Abyssinian horn bill flanking in the semien mountain sky. Day 7 - Buhahit (4437masl)
Early in the morning trek to the second highest peak of the park-Buhahit 4437masl-on the way seeing the troops of Galada Baboon with African fish eagle and thick billed raven hovering above the giant peak. In the afternoon drive to Debark. Overnight Semien Park Hotel
Day 8 - Axum
Drive to Axum through the escarpments of the semien mountain National park and the beautiful valley of Tekeze. Overnight Rehmay Hotel
Day 9- Axum
Full day in Axum once one of the four great powers of the ancient world. We will see the remarkable stelae or obelisks, the largest single pieces of stone standing anywhere on the world. There are also tombs and castles of former monarchs, the Axum Museum and Mariam tsion Church, built on the site of Ethiopia's first church AD). Overnight Rehmay Hotel
Day 10- Mekele
Drive to Mekele and en route visit Aba Garima Monastery, Yeha Temple of the Pagan of the 5 Century and the first Sub Saharan Christian Church of the 5 C- Debre Damo Monastery-FORBIDDEN TO WOMEN. Overnight Axum Hotel
Day 11- Lalibela and Cave churches
In the morning visit Mekele Museum and Drive to Lalibela - en route visit Yimrahine Kirstos Monastery. Overnight Roha Hotel
Day 12-Rock Hewn Churches of Lalibela
Full day in Lalibela At the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th centuries, King Lalibela of the Zaghwe dynasty built a series of rock hewn churches, rightly acknowledged as one of the wonders of the world We will visit the first group of churches and In the afternoon continue visiting the second and third group of the Lalibela churches Overnight Roha Hotel
Day 13-Dessie and Nakutola’ab monastery
Drive to Dessie and en route visit the medieval time monastery called Nakutola’ab near Lalibela. Overnight Lalibela hotel
Day 14-Addis Ababa
In the morning drive to Addis Ababa through the spectacular Shewan plateau and scenery and in the evening After having Ethiopian traditional dinner and dance in one of the renowned restaurant of Addis Ababa You will be transferred to the Air port for your departure home |
