Family Windsurfing Holiday in Greece
Vassiliki is a traditional fishing village, located at the Southern-most tip of the beautiful island of Lefkas. It overlooks Kephallonia (of Captain Corelli fame) and is part of the Ionian group of islands in the North West of Greece. Due to the extraordinary local wind phenomenon, Vassiliki has become a world famous windsurfing destination. But it has managed to retain its unspoilt charm with chilled tavernas, cafes and bars lining the picturesque harbour.
Club Vass are committed to getting kids involved in windsurfing at all levels, whilst allowing their parents to get plenty of time on the water! Allowing parents to windsurf in a high wind venue with cutting edge facilities for everyone, as opposed to 'institutionalised' low wind family resorts!
Our activity and childcare programs are all run for 3 hours in the mornings and 3 hours in the afternoons, from Monday to Friday. Precise timings are flexible to tie in with our adult windsurfing tuition program. Numbers are limited and in great demand, so early booking is essential.
The Club Vass approach to windsurfing tuition has been tried and tested over the last 18 years - and it works! We've always been at the forefront and have been influential in developing the RYA's FastForward teaching methods (which we incorporate into our program). Our Windsurfing team is the highest qualified in the world, boasting more RYA level 5 instructors than any other centre. These highly motivated professionals have a relaxed, friendly approach that cannot fail to motivate you. Many of our instructors move around the world with us so you'll recognise familiar faces in unusual places! Freeriderz and Freestylerz (Kids’ Watersports Clubs: 7-15 years)
Our windsurfing and taster dinghy program is run in association with the RYA junior scheme. We aim to provide a fun and exciting entry to the sport and help consolidate skills up to RYA level 3. We have tailored the Club Vass approach, with motivating instructors and specially designed state-of-the-art kids’ equipment, including the fantastic new Fanatic Ripper and Gaastra Maverick sails.
'Da Crib' (Crèche: 3 months-6 years)
Our specially built log cabin is fully air conditioned and equipped with toys, games, arts and crafts. It's also got its own shaded enclosed terrace so the little ones can be outside in perfect safety. Qualified and experienced nannies ensure the kids have an unforgettable holiday too, with fully supervised swimming, paddling, picnics, walks and videos all part of the fun, depending on ages. Da Crib is open for 3 hours in the mornings and 3 hours in the afternoons, Monday to Friday, to give parents plenty of time on the water. Our team of experienced nannies and child-carers ensure the youngsters have a fantastic time too. Babies, toddlers and young children are grouped by age as far possible to ensure that their different needs are met and requisite child to carer ratios are followed.
Fully supervised games, arts and crafts, swimming, exploring and videos are all part of the fun. ‘Da Crib’, our air-conditioned log cabin, is located right next to the Club with a shaded terrace so the little ones can safely play outside and feel part of all the Club Vass actionPre-booking is essential and, as places are in great demand, we recommend you book early. |
