Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno Glacier
Chile Nativo Budget Getaway trips offer all the same excellent quality you expect in a higher priced trip, exceptional and professional guides and private transfers from Puerto Natales and in and around the park, but with a reasonable price.
We've cut down on extra costs like private transfers between Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, for some trips we choose staying in the mountain huts over camping so we cut down on the costs of porters and instead of Chile Nativo preparing the meals, we enjoy the hearty mountain menus provided by the mountain huts that we use in the National Parks.

Itinerary / Highlights
Day 1 Torres Del Paine/Puerto Natales - ChaltenIf you are taking a trip with us in Torres del Paine, we leave early from the park and drive onwards Cerro Castillo border crossing where we meet the public bus to El Calafate in Argentina (287 kms/180 miles), or if you are all ready in Puerto Natales you take the bus from there.
Calafate is a small place set on the edge of Los Glaciares National Park amid dramatic scenery. As soon as you arrived to the bus terminal a private transfer will be waiting for you and take you to down town, to our office where you can leave you luggage and walk around the town. We continue with another public bus to Chalten (220 kms/138 miles). We drive on isolated dirt roads across the pampas and along the northern end of Lago Viedma and reach the settlement of El Chalten, a tiny outpost beside Parque Nacional Los Glaciares and on foot of the impressive mount Fitzroy. We finish in the town to spend the night.
(4 hours by public bus to Calafate, 3 hours by public bus to Chalten) (Night at Hostel in Chalten)
Day 2 Fitzroy look at point
From our comfortable base with a spectacular view of Mt. Fitzroy and other peaks, we will have the whole day to explore this section of the park. We start a hike that takes us to the Fitzroy Base. While hiking in the park, the trails will take us to places as Laguna Capri and Laguna Madre e Hija, Laguna de los Tres, directly in front of Fitzroy and Piedras Blancas. The scale of the scenery, with its jagged peaks and glimpses of glaciers suspended between them makes these walks extremely rewarding.
(5-6 hours hike) (B-BL) (Night at Hostel in Chalten)
Day 3 Cerro Torre look at point - Calafate
After a good breakfast we hike to the Cerro Torre base camp and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Patagonia with the famous peak, and the lake with the same name. In the afternoon we hike back to Chalten and we take a public bus back to Calafate. As soon as you get to the bus terminal a private transfer will be waiting to drive you to the hotel.
(5 hours hike, 3 hours by public bus to Calafate, 15 minutes by transfer) (B-BL) (Night at Hotel *** in Calafate)
Day 4 Perito Moreno Glacier
Early morning we take part in a guided excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier, a very active glacier on the south arm of Lago Argentino. The Perito Moreno Glacier, a 60m-high relic of the Ice Age, creates a unique geographic event approximately every three or four years. As it advances, it pushes out across the surface of the lake, cutting the lake into two separate sections. As water pressure builds up on one side over the years, the glacier eventually explodes open with a torrent of water and a fury of calving icebergs. Although this spectacular event no longer occurs as cyclically as it did during the past 50 years, the Moreno Glacier is constantly moving, calving, and crackling an incredible sight and sound at any time. We enjoy a picnic lunch at a dining area. Then you will go on a walk to the area of balconies that will enable you to see the imposing front of the glacier from the closest spot. In the afternoon you will go back to El Calafate.
(2 hours by private transfer, 2 hours walk) (B-BL) (Night at Hotel *** in Calafate)
(Optional Ice Hike not included in Price USD 120)
Day 5 Calafate & Puerto Natales
Early morning we take a private transfer to the bus station and from there a public bus all the way to Puerto Natales.
(15 minutes by transfer, 5 hours by public bus to Puerto Natales) (B)
