Located in the beautiful Gwaun Valley in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, about four miles from the coast and beaches at Newport Sands, this hotel offers free parking, free WiFi and is ideal for visits to nearby Fishguard.The area in which they are situated is designated a site of special scientific interest. Perfect for walking, bird watching, hiking, cycling, nature watching, beaches, sightseeing or just relaxing in the friendly and comfortable welcoming environment.This is Bluestone country where the famous stones at Stonehenge originated. The area has many fascinating historical features. It lies in an unspoiled rural area, surrounded by farms, with many footpaths and bridleways and an abundance of wildlife. The nineteenth century stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored and comfortably furnished ensuring a warm welcome to this tranquil and relaxing family run hotel.There are bedrooms in the Farmhouse as well as 14 cottages in various sizes, from one to three bedrooms all beautifully converted from stone farm buildings. All cottages are non smoking. The cottages are situated in a lovely courtyard with a pond. There are seating areas and barbecues for those lazy summer evenings and the cottages are only a stone's throw from the bar and restaurant. The Cottages are set up for self catering or can used as accommodation with breakfast served in the old Farmhouse.The newly refurnished restaurant offers a frequently changing menu that is designed and prepared using the finest local produce. With the local butcher selecting the best Lamb, Beef and Poultry bred within the County of Pembrokeshire, Cheese lovingly produced by Pant Mawr in Rosebush and locally grown seasonal vegetables give a true taste and reflection of West Wales. Choose from the varied selection of young and distinguished fine wines from around the world.Pembrokeshire Coast National Park boasts some of the most spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife in Britain, covering 240 sq miles (620 sq km) of spectacular landscape around Wales' south-western shore. Its stunning scenery, wealth of wildlife and fascinating history make it a very special place to explore and enjoy.Gellifawr is set in 12 acres of farmland, ideal for horses with plenty of bridal paths in the surrounding area. With two horses already resident on the primacies there is one stall free and smaller paddocks for single or two horse use available for week lets - so pack your bags and bring your horse!


Directions

From Camarthen and South East (M4)From M4 J49 bear left (north onto A48) towards Camarthen (15.4 miles). From Camarthen (or the bypass) take the A40 towards Haverfordwest passing by St Clears and Whitland. After crossing over the A478 (Penbluin Roundabout) take the first right turn (B4313) to Bethesda (James the Saddler). Stay on the B2313 towards Fishguard (B4313) turn left in 0.8 miles. Stay on the B4313 by turning right at the T junction, before Maenclochog towards Rosebush (signposted FishguardAbergwaun). Pass through Maenchlochog and pass the Rosebush turn off. At the crossroads with the B4329 cross straight over. Proceed on the B4313 for about 2.5 miles and turn right onto the road signposted Pontfaen and Cwn Gwaun. (B4313 goes sharply to the left and you stay right, almost straight on). Proceed for 0.75 miles taking the first turning on the right (signposted Gellifawr) TAKE CARE not to miss this. Proceed on this road for about 1.6 miles until you see Gellifawr on your right.From CardiganTake the A487 towards Fishguard. On entering Newport (Trefdraeth) take the first turning on your left signposted Cilgwyn and Cwm Gwaun. And then follow directions From the road signposted Cilgwyn and Cwn Gwaun below. From FishguardTake the A487 towards Cardigan. Go into and through Newport, past the Golden Lion pub and take the road on the right signposted Cilgwyn and Cwn Gwaun. From the road signposted Cilgwyn and Cwn Gwaun: At the T junction turn left and continue on this road for 2 miles past the S bend by the candlemakers and on to another T junction. At the T junction turn left and then immediately right up the hill signposted Gellifawr. After a mile come through Trefach farm and we are the next residence on the left hand side about a 1000 yds further.
