Glacier Hiking from Skaftafell

The Glacier Grand Slam is our most popular trip and for a good reason, you will visit the most breathtaking and inspiring nature that Vatnajökull National Park has to offer. Wander along the Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon and then on to the glacier tongue itself, Fjallsjökull, where you will find yourself surrounded by spectacular ice formations and crevasses. Then take a boat ride on the world famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where you will sail among enormous icebergs with Europe’s largest glacier in the background. All in one easily booked package and including pick up from Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park!

You will enjoy vast, sweeping, panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the amazing crevasse system as well as the steep ice fall high up on the glacier. The trip will provide you with plenty of photo opportunities and the chance to gain a deep understanding of this magnificent glacier, how it is formed and how it continues to change shape every day.

After our exploration our bus will pick us up and drive to Jökulsárlón (Glacier Lagoon). We will take an amazing 30-40 minute boat ride on the strange looking amphibious “wheeled boats” and sail among numerous large icebergs as the guide explains the history and formation of the lagoon.

This is surely the ultimate ICEland adventure, filled with exploration, adventure and truly unforgettable views.
