Golfing in Jamaica

Jamaica has developed some of the most beautiful courses in the Caribbean, suited to all levels of play. The following list represents the JSV recommended courses.

Greens fees very depending on the time of year and the course. Carts are available at most courses and caddies are mandatory at most courses (some prices include tax and some do not).

If transportation to golf course is needed the cost will range from $25 to $100 round trip for 1 to 4 people. Of course, JSV will make all the arrangements.

Itinerary / Highlights

Golf Courses - Montego Bay:-
Half Moon Golf Course - A 7119 yard, par 72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones with a fairly flat, links-type course close to the ocean. Greens fees are $47 to $110, carts $35 and a mandatory caddy $17.

Tryall Golf Club - A 6772 yard, par 72 course located on a 17th Century sugar plantation. It is located 12 miles west of Montego Bay and is widely considered one of the best courses in Jamaica, and one of the best in the world. Greens fees for guests are around $40-$60 depending on season, and $75-$125 for non-guests.

Wyndham Rose Hall Country Club - A 6671 yard, par 72 course that has magnificent ocean views and severe dog-legs on virtually all holes. Many agree that the par 4-eighth hole resembles Pebble Beach's famous 18th hole. Another of the top courses in the world; this is a rugged and challenging seaside/mountainside course. Greens fees and the mandatory cart and caddy are about $70 to $125.

The White Witch Golf Course - A 6800 yard, par 72 course designed by Robert von Hagge. 16 of the 18 holes look over the Caribbean Sea. The 13th hole overlooks the grave of the white witch of Rose Hall, Annie Palmers. Greens fees and the mandatory cart and caddy are about $95 to $185.

Golf Courses - Ocho Rios
Sandals Golf and Country Club - A 6424 yard, par 71 course. This course is up in the mountains and considered by many to be one of the most scenic courses in Jamaica, because of its elevated greens and tees. Greens fees are $70 to $100, optional carts $25 to $38 and a mandatory caddy $12 to $15. Complimentary Green Fees to all Sandals Guests. Complimentary transportation to all guests of Sandals/Beaches Resorts within Jamaica's Ocho Rios area.

Golf Courses - Runaway Bay
SuperClubs Golf Club - 6798 yard, 72 par course that includes many elevated tees and greens. This course hosted the World Cup Qualifier in 1997. No fees for guests of Jamaica Super Clubs. Green fees (for non guests) $80. Cart $23 to $35. Caddy $8 to $12.

Accommodation Details

Bounty Bay (managed by JSV) - Bounty Bay Villa (privetly owned but, managed exclusively by Jamaica Sports Vacations) has seven rooms all with separate bath, some with two twin beds and some with king size bed. Extra beds are available. There is a common kitchen, dinning room, and living room.

We like to call it a Jamaican bed and breakfast that serves three meals a day.

It is in a very private setting right on the down wind side of the beach. This is a wonderful place to meet some new friends and experience having your windsurfing equipment all rigged and ready, just steps from your room.
