Gorilla Safari
Wildlife encounters in rich equatorial
Primates & Forests
Your first introduction to Uganda's wealth of wildlife finds you on foot in Kibale Forest searching for chimpanzee and other primates. In Queen Elizabeth NP, which straddles the equator, game drives are followed by a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to observe wallowing hippos. Then the tension builds as in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, trackers guide you to find the mountain gorillas. Encountering a family and sitting metres away from a great silverback is awesome!
Lake Bunyonyi & Lake Mburo
Time to relax and unwind at peaceful Lake Bunyonyi, meaning 'place of birds'. You can walk the shores or try canoeing around the many small islands. More game viewing at Lake Mburo NP home to Burchell's zebra, buffalo, bushpig and hippo. Then return to Kampala with time for optional rafting on the Nile or for a visit to chimp island.
Ugandan Wildlife
Uganda is renowned for its rich variety of game. Hippo and crocodile inhabit the water, while in the open savannah, elephant, lion, leopard, warthog and buffalo roam. The variety of birdlife is simply amazing with a staggering 550 species found in QEII NP alone ' the dawn chorus will never be quite the same again!
