Combining seeing the highlights of Vietnam with putting something back by getting involved in much needed development projects and volunteering at a school or local community project in scenic, rural Mai Chau Valley.

Checking out the main sights of bustling Ho Chi Minh City, soaking up the sun, sea and sand in Nha Trang, Vietnam's premier beach resort, chilling out in Hoi An, getting clothes made at the many tailors and enjoying this charming town.

Catching up on culture and history in the Imperial of Hue, cruising through the thousands of limestone peaks in Halong Bay.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City

Arrive and check in to the hotel. Evening meet your tour leader for the group meeting.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast embark on a walking tour of the city. Visit the Old Post Office, Notre Dam Cathedral, Re-unification Palace, War Musuem and the vibrant Ben Thanh Market. In the evening board the Re-unification Express to Nha Trang. Approx 8 hrs (B).

Day 3: Nha Trang

Arrive in Nha Trang in the morning. Sit on the beach soaking up the sun, take a boat trip, or perhaps visit nearby historical sites. Optional activities include a boat trip to nearby islands for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Day 4: Nha Trang

Full day to relax or indulge in more optional visit to local sights, mud baths or sunbathe by the South China Sea. In the evening we the overnight train to Danang. Approx 12 hrs train ride (B).

Day 5: Hoi An

From Danang take a short drive to the picturesque port town of Hoi An. In the Old Trading Town you will notice a strong South Chinese influence. Afternoon walking tour of the Old Town.

Day 6: Hoi An

Enjoy a free day to get your outfit made from hundreds of tailors or relax at a café by the riverfront or hire a bicycle and venture out to the countryside (B).

Day 7: Hue

After breakfast drive to the city of Hue which represents the old Nguyen Emperor Regime. Drive will be past famous Lang Co Beach and over Hai Van Pass. Upon arrival in Hue, enjoy a guided tour of the Citadel (B).

Day 8: Hue

Take the option to travel by boat along the Perfume River and visit Tien Mu Pagoda and the tombs of famous Nguyen Emperors. In the afternoon board the overnight train to Hanoi. Approx 12hrs train ride (B).

Day 9: Halong Bay

Upon arrival you have the option to sample Hanoi’s famous pho for breakfast. Then drive to Halong City and embark on a boat cruise around Halong Bay on a traditional junk. Approx 3hrs drive (LD).

Day 10: Hanoi

After breakfast transfer back to Hanoi. Take a guided walking tour of the Hanoi’s Old Quarter (B).

Day 11-14: Mai Chau Volunteer Project

Drive to the picturesque valley of Mai Chau where you will be spending the next four days in this rural area northwest of Hanoi,

where modern capitalization has not yet touched these local villages. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the lives of the locals and help schoolchildren by imparting your language skills. Basic accommodation at a local family house (BLD)

Day 15: Mai Chau - Hanoi

Drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon. Tour ends upon arrival (B).
