Huayhuash and Cordillera Blanca
The Cordillera Blanca
The 'White Range' in Peru offers the highest concentration of snowcapped peaks in the Andes. It is a Mecca for trekkers with sweeping views of several 6000m peaks including Huarasacan (6768m), the highest in the country. Trekking through jagged mountains, glacial lakes and the chance to see Alpamayo - reputedly the world's most beautiful mountain - make this area truly breathtaking.
Into The Huayhuash
The Cordillera Huayhuash was made famous by Joe Simpson in 'Touching the Void' and you'll see the perilous Siula Grande. Whilst you won't be attempting any peaks, trekking to both the east and west sides of the cordillera allows you see the best of this region of Peru. You'll cross extremely high passes and traverse this area of soaring peaks - including Rondoy, Jirishanca and Yerupaja (6634m).
