For anyone who likes to try out for a real wilderness feeling. At our kennel you will only meet Siberian husky dogs - The real Polardog. We spend our days travelling with the dogs, you get your own team to run and take care of during your stay.

One of our nights we spend in the mountains – in tents or a mountain cottage…. Be ready for an adventure!

The sled dogs will take us to the Sámi camp. We have a nice dinner, wood fired outdoor bath, lecture by the Sámi people…after breakfast the next day we continue our sled dog trip. On request, not included.

Day 1 arrival
Arrival and check in at the Husky lodge located at the sleddogkennel. We say Hi to the dogs, goes on a tour around the kennel. We take a look at the equipment and after a nice dinner together we talk about the week which is coming. Your first night at Husky lodge. We have two nice rooms: Thule & Toolik, both top standard with comfortable beds, private TV room & WC.

Day 2 dog sledding & snowshoe hiking at kennel area
We start the day by feeding the dogs and do some kennel work. After breakfast we show you how to harness the dogs, trying the sleds & go through the technique. Today we make a small trip around the kennel area. However, first we put on the snowshoes and walk out in the forest, we bring wood and make our lunch over the open fire. Dinner and night at the Husky lodge.

Day 3 dog sledding in the mountains
After breakfast its time to do our first mountain tour. We take a look at the weather to decide if we go up in the mountains or in forest terrain – both is really nice. In this area it's plenty of wolverines and lynx, maybe we see some tracks, and if we are lucky also an animal. The wolf often goes through this area. Back at the lodge, we feed the dogs and make dinner for ourselves. Now its time to make plans for our overnight trip the next day.

Day 4 dog sledding & one night in the mountains
Early morning we pack the car and set of to the mountains.Time to harness the dogs and put them in the team. The dogs scream out their energy…when the start line looses and the dog's sets of, it's totally quiet – at last … let the adventure begin. The track is uphill in the beginning, you need to work as a team and assist the dogs by run and kick. We go about 3 h before stopping for lunch & the dogs get snacks, now you should have the right “muscherfeeling”! We stay in a tent or cabin depending on weather and the group. Whilst we are eating a nice dinner the dogs has gone to rest, and we have a nice fire going.

Day 5 dog sledding in the mountains
We wake up in the mountain and after feeding the dogs and ourselves, we put on the snow shoes to check out the area. Hopefully, it's a nice morning….take the chance to sit down and soak in the beautiful view and listen to the silence. The weather can change fast in the mountains… from blue sky & sun to storm & blizzard. Especially hard wind takes much energy from the dogs and people. Its time to go with the dogs, and they will take you trough breathtaking views among the magnificent mountains and wilderness of Sweden. We stop for lunch…maybe by an open creek so you can get a taste of clean & fresh mountain water. At the end of the day, we take farewell of the mountains & we drive back to Husky lodge. After shower and our last dinner together we take a look at all nice pictures we taken and talk about our adventure.

Day 6 departure
After breakfast its time to say goodbye to the dogs, the guide & Jämtland. Hopefully, with a lot of nice memories that will last for a lifetime!

Group from 2 - 6 persons, prices are based on 2 persons sharing room (6 persons in a group is possible if you are a private group, otherwise we only take 4 guests) If you have other requests on what to do, (culture day,city break, skiing et.c), just let us know! Please be aware of that the tour can be changed the last minute due to weather and snow condition- such as starting point, stretch, nightcamp e.tc.


Level: Normal fitness
The tour is adjustable after the guests. It’s a mountain tour, but can be done in mixed terrain and nights in cabins in bad weather. No experience needed and the most suitable tour for beginners

Accommodation Details

The Husky lodge - Located at the sled dog kennel, the house next to the host family. Top modern, in Swedish country style! The lodge consists of 2 mini suites - with bedroom, private TV-room and WC. There are totally 4 beds and 2 extra beds in the house, if necessary. Mountain huts during the dog sledding tour without running water and electricity or tent if the weather allow.

About the meals –
Dinner, at the Husky lodge we are taking food from a local restaurant and they serve traditional Scandinavian food (homely cooking). On tours we cook together, sometimes over open fire or in mountain huts. We will try to cook much elk, reindeer, and fish …typical Swedish wildlife food.
Lunches, mainly outside and on tours cook together, sometimes over open fire or in mountain huts. Breakfast, served as a buffet or the guest serve themselves from the kitchen. Bread, muesli, sour milk, porridge, eggs, coffee, tea, etc
