Introduction to Rock Climbing In Sussex
How adventurous are you? Rock Climbing has really exploded in popularity in recent years with thousands of people enjoying this fantastic extreme sport which gets you out in the great outdoors. Outdoor Rock Climbing is a very rewarding activity; it is both physically and technically challenging and is also great fun. This one-day course is designed to introduce a beginner or an indoor climber to the world of climbing outdoors, at one of the Sandstone crags in Sussex. Learn how to set up 'top ropes' use guide books and chose the right kit. As the name suggests Southern Sandstone is in the South of England (halfway between London and Brighton) and is also a very soft sandy rock which makes for some interesting and enjoyable climbing!

You will start your session by meeting your instructor at the climbing site. You will receive a safety briefing before being introduced to rock climbing and the basic skills that you will learn during the day. You will then take to the rock where you will learn and parctice; belaying (depending on experience), climbing technique, equipment selection, setting up basic top ropes, climbing etiquette and safety awareness. This is a fantastic day where which will give you a solid grounding in outdoor rock climbing. |
