Two great countries in one action-packed week and the contrasts couldn’t be more striking. We start gently, exploring Croatia’s Istrian Coast and the limestone interior which gives the region it’s nickname of “White Istria”. In Slovenia, we step up the adrenaline levels amidst the mountains and rivers of the breathtaking Soca Valley. Whether it’s slopping along placidly on our “lazy boat day” or the thrill of white water rafting on one of Europe’s most beautiful rivers, we are sure you’re going to love these two beautiful destinations.

Saturday
Transfers, introduction & Dinner
We will meet you at Trieste Airport and transfer down the coast to our accommodation in the tiny village of Klostar. After settling in there will be an introductory dinner.
Sunday
Istrian Triathlon
A fantastic introduction to Istria as we go trekking in the hills, cycling through the vineyards and sea kayaking along the coast. Not bad for starters! Picnic lunch.
Monday
Lazy Boat Day
You can’t visit Croatia without exploring the coastline. Today’s boat trip is about unwinding but there will be opportunites to kayak, fish, swim and snorkle on our way to Porec. Fish lunch on board the boat.
Tuesday
Adrenaline Park
We bid farewell to Croatia and arrive in time for lunch at our Slovenian hotel. This afternoon, we work our way through the local high ropes course encountering a number of mental and physical challenges.
Wednesday
Mountain Biking
The route today will vary according to the ability of the group. Regardless, a day of cycling on the undulating back roads and tracks of the Soca Valley will take you past rivers and waterfalls and up and down alpine valleys. It’s fabulous cycling country, Picnic lunch included.
Thursday *
White Water Rafting
Straight into the action this morning with the perfect introduction to the River Soca. There’s fun and games between rafts before the more serious rafting begins further downstream. It’s also a great way to get acquainted with others on the trip. Lunch at the hotel and optional afternnoon hydrospeeding (see foot of the page).
Friday
Canyoning and Night Canoeing
Following lunch we head for the Trebusa Canyon where we have sole access rights. After a 20 minute uphill walk to our start point we descend the canyon via a series of slides, jumps, ducks and dives culminating in an exhilarating rope-assisted descent of a 27m waterfall. After lunch at the hotel, the afternoon is free to pack and relax before our farewell dinner and the final activity of the week, night canoeing. We follow a gentle 4km stretch of river in inflatable kayaks with only the stars in the Slovenian night sky to light our way.
Saturday
Departure
After breakfast we return to Trieste Airport.
*We have not included hydrospeeding in this programme as it can be the most extreme of activities and not to everybody’s taste. Consequently, hydrospeeding will be available to book locally on Thursday afternoon when our local guides will be available to advise you regarding your suitability for the activity. |

Agrotouristic Farmhouse Matosevic
The first three nights of our holiday are spent at an agrotouristic farmhouse in the tiny village of Klostar. Home-cooked meals, a huge barrel of local wine and a warm, warm welcome are the order of the day here.
Hotel Krn
In Slovenia we stay at the 3-star Hotel Krn. The hotel has large en-suite rooms which are simply but comfortably furnished. The friendly bar and terrace are perfect for those relaxing sundowners. |
