Remote Jebel Sahro
Lying between the Atlas and the Sahara, the remote Jebel Sahro region benefits from the warmth of the desert in winter. Supported by mules, muleteers, cook and guide, you trek into the heart of this barren but beautiful wilderness. The dramatic terrain is unique. Gorges and steep bluffs dominate this contorted landscape, where wind and extremes of heat and cold have sculpted amazing rock formations.
Out of the Wilderness
Crossing a series of ridges, you'll wonder at spectacular views of the surrounding wild country, interspersed with a few green valleys with a scattering of date palms. After the trek you visit Ait Benhaddou's impressive kasbah before going on to vibrant Marrakech. Here you'll explore its maze of souks and twisting alleyways and soak up the atmosphere of the Djemaa el-Fna.
Beat the Winter Blues
Whilst the Sahro region gets very hot in the summer months, in winter the skies are clear and crisp and the days pleasantly warm and sunny. Perfect for an enjoyable winter trekking break, this is a challenging but non technical trek.
