Itinerary / Highlights
Days 1-2 Broome/ Cape LevequeFrom Broome, see Beagle Bay's mother-of-pearl church altar and hunt for bush tucker through Bardi saltwater country. Tuck into fresh billy tea and campfire-baked damper then reach wild Cape Leveque in time for a barbecue dinner. Be soothed to sleep by the sound of waves. The next day, snorkel, fish, kayak or lounge on a soft, sandy beach.
Day 3 One Arm Point/ Broome
Travel to the One Arm Point community at the tip of the Dampier Peninsula, the ideal spot to view the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago and see huge tidal flows. These coral lagoons are home to saltwater crocodiles and sea snakes. Tour the Aquaculture Hatchery then enjoy a friendly lunch in the Lombadina community before returning to Broome.
Day 4 Geikie Gorge/ Fitzroy Crossing
Picnic by the Fitzroy River then cruise the majestic Geikie Gorge, spotting crocodiles, birds and fish.
Days 5-6 Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Ranges)
See the huge China Wall quartz vein and striped ‘beehive' domes. Marvel at Echidna Chasm's towering palm trees.
Day 7 Mimbi Caves
Delve into Dreamtime with a Gooniyandi guide. Hear traditional stories and learn the secrets of Mimbi Caves, a sanctuary of crystal clear pools, rare fossils and ancient rock art.
Day 8 Windjana Gorge/ Broome
Once an ancient reef, Windjana Gorge teems with freshwater crocodiles, birds and bush tucker. Explore Tunnel Creek's caves and cool off in a waterhole. Return to Broome.
