Lessons take place on Playa Famara Beach, a spectacular 5 kilometer sandy beach on the northwest coast of Lanzarote. The Kiteboarding Academy is a recognised IKO Center and an official Naish Pro Center and always carry the latest Naish equipment.
Tuition
The teaching program has been developed according to IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) standards and guidelines. The idea behind the Kiteboarding Camp is for our students to become safe, responsible and fully self-sufficient kiters ready to enjoy the sport by themselves once they finish their instruction with us. Our lessons provide a proven step-by-step approach to learn Kiteboarding safely and quickly. Our instructors are all IKO level 2 qualified. At the end of the course, students are assesed and then accredited with the Kiteboarder Card form the IKO stating the level achieved during instruction this can be used to further your instruction at any recognised IKO center.
Safety
Your safety is our prime concern, we offer a low student-to-teacher ratio and have two water support & rescue vehicles (Jet Ski & Zodiac) at our disposal at all times. We use radio-assisted helmets when out on the water and provide state of the art equipment, safety systems as well as helmets and life vests.
Equipment
The KITEBOARDING ACADEMY stock around 10 kiteboards and about 24 Kites. The equipment is designed for beginners, intermediates and advanced kitesurfers. Safety is always a key factor. Beginners will use boards designed for both stability and safety and the instructors will select a board suitable for your size, weight and level. All the equipment is checked and maintained on a regular basis to ensure you have the best material at your disposal. The Academy also provide a wide range of good quality wetsuits at no extra charge.
What to bring
Board shorts, sun block, hat, beach towels, sandals, first aid kit, waterproof disposable camera and finally lots of energy and enthusiasm. |

If you join one of our 'Camps' You will be staying in private 1 or 2 bedroom apartments in La Caleta de Famara or La Santa. Both locations are small fishing towns on the North-Western coast of Lanzarote. The majority of properties we use are owned by the Kiteboarding school or exclusive to Zoco. More importantly they are within walking distance of the beach or kiteboarding spots and local amenities.
All properties are maintained to a high standard with spacious living areas, fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, bathrooms and many have private balconies or terraces.
You can also customize your kitesurfing trip. We specialise in providing accommodation handpicked to suit your specific kitesurfing needs, taste and pocket. Whether you want to stay in a private holiday villa with pool or a 5 star hotel we have the perfect accommodation for you. |
