Kitesurfing Lessons - All Levels

Whether you are a beginner or a pro we can accommodate you here in Sri Lanka. If you want lessons we can tailor the lesson to suit your level. We have a great home spot to learn to Kite Surf in and for the more advanced we will take you to the best spots around the area. You can hire a local Kite buddy with a security boat if you want to go out further afield.

Winds are side to site-onshore, you can surf 3 miles downwind and land on the wide not very crowded beach of Negombo. have a coffee and come back on a three-wheeler!

You can learn to kiteboard under certain conditions. If you are considering taking a course please let us know beforehand so we can book a licensed instructor.

The combination with wakeboarding is ideal for all who can fly the kite good enough on the beach, but do have problems taking off with the board. Unfortunately both locations don't offer hip-deep water conditions.

We always do have kites in stock for training or rental.

Itinerary / Highlights

The main spot for kite surfing in Sri Lanka is in Negombo. One of the factors for this are the nearby factories of NORTH KITEBOARDING, FAITH KITEBOARDING or and CARVED.

Here we have perfect wind conditions for kite boarding. Especially in the months January & March when the NW trade winds will provide the necessary power. The shore break is nothing to write home about, so ideal for beginners, too.

In May to August the wind shifts to the SW direction with higher shore break and high sea. More for advanced and professional kiters.
Over a length of 5 km, the beach of Negombo is wide enough for take off and landing.

A highlight is the downwinder from Nainamadana to Negombo. You can start directly in front of the Kumudu Valley Resort or the Dolphin Hotel and kite 8km along the coast to Negombo. A dream!

We do organize kite trips to Kalpitiya (60 miles), which appeals to all advanced or professional kiters due to the high wind conditions.
