Itinerary
& Highlights |
| |
Day 1 - 2, Johannesburg, Kruger NP
From Johannesburg, travel to the Greater Kruger National Park where we camp for two nights and explore South Africa’s best known park on game drives. With luck, you’ll encounter the Big 5 - leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo, and also see the park after dark on fun night drives to spot the nocturnal animals. Seeing eyes in the darkened bush is a thrilling experience.
Day 3, Masvingo, Great Zimbabwe Ruins
After an early morning game drive in Kruger, head north for the border post at Beitbridge and cross into Zimbabwe. We travel through to Masvingo to visit the mystical Great Zimbabwe Ruins, a testament of an African civilisation thousands of years old. Explore the ancient walls and conical towers after which the country of Zimbabwe was named.
Day 4, Bulawayo, Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage
From Masvingo, travel through Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second largest city to the Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage, an important sanctuary for injured or orphaned wildlife and a superb opportunity to get close up to some of Africa’s most famous animals.
Day 5 - 6, Victoria Falls, Sunset Cruise
At Victoria Falls, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, before spending two days enjoying the local restaurants, curio markets, and adventure activities for which the falls are famous, and no visit to Africa is complete without viewing the tremendous falls themselves as they spill over into the Bakota Gorge. The six day tours ends in Victoria Falls on the morning of Day 7.
Day 7, Botswana
After visiting Victoria Falls we cross the border into Botswana, and journey to the eerie Makgadikgadi pans, where you have the option to explore the saltpans by 4x4 and marvel at the expanse and space.
Day 8, Johannesburg
We cross back into South Africa and end the eight day tour in vibey Johannesburg. |
