Land of Angkor

Discover the heart of Cambodia through
Countryside & Coast

After exploring the main historical and cultural highlights of Cambodia's pleasant capital city Phnom Penh, including the sobering Killing Fields, you'll head out into the countryside. En route to tiny Takeo where you'll be the guests of local villagers, you'll see a number of shrines, including the mountain top temple of Phnom Chisor. From here the southern coastal resort of Sihanoukville beckons, where there'll be free time to relax or snorkel (optional) after taking a private boat trip to Koh Tansey (Rabbit Island) and discovering the waterfalls and hill station of Bokor.

Temples & Angkor Wat

Heading back to the north of Cambodia to Kompong Cham, you'll pause to visit the temples of Wat Nokor, Phnom Pros and Srey, before continuing to the charming riverside city of Kratie to spot dolphins. We've included a stop at Kompong Thom and a sunset temple visit en route to what will surely be the highlight of your holiday in Cambodia - three days exploring the magnificent complex of ancient temples at Angkor Wat.

Dolphin spotting

You will get the chance to spot very rare Irrawaddy dolphin. These freshwater dolphins live in a particular stretch of the Mekong River, just north of the sleepy town of Kratie. In the dry season when water levels in the river drop, the dolphins reside in a series of deep water pools which makes them easier to find. The best times of year to see dolphins are between January and August.
