Langtang & Lakes
Climbing steadily to the holy lakes of Gosainkund, the scene is one of solitary beauty. From here you ascend to the Laurebina Pass at 4610m, for views of Tibet. Helambu is probably as close as one could get to a Shangri La in Nepal. The valley floor is a patchwork of fields and streams whilst the numerous hamlets of Sherpa farmers are set against a backdrop of hills. You end your trek descending through this beautiful area, before making the short transfer by road back to Kathmandu.
After exploring medieval Kathmandu on a guided city tour, you set off north-east for the Langtang Valley. During your trek you will encounter many villages and friendly faces, learning about the Buddhist culture as you go. The region is also colourful in spring when the rhododendrons bloom and the area is a profusion of
colour. Trekking up the valley, you'll have superb views of the Langtang range and its stunning glaciers.
