Lapland Adventure and the Icehotel
Snow-mobiling, Dog-sledding, igloo-building and cross-country skiing with a night in the famous Icehotel
Icehotel entrance
Deep inside the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland, close to the town of Kiruna lies the magical Icehotel. From the neighbouring village of Kaupinnen and in the vast wilderness areas all around, we enjoy this very special location with a week packed full of activities.
This area is characterised by deep forests, frozen lakes and the extraordinary Northern Lights. We spend two days learning to drive our own dogsleds, and two more on snowmobiles. We will build an igloo, and try the Nordic art of cross-country skiing. The simple accommodation is a real highlight - cosy wilderness lodges with saunas, your own igloo (optional) and the stunning Icehotel.

Lodges & Icehotel
Mushers Lodge. In the small hamlet of Kaupinnen, our Mushers Lodge is simple hostel-style accommodation with 4-8 bedded dormitories, mostly with bunk beds, bedding and duvets provided. There are shared toilets, showers and sauna facilities.
Wilderness lodge. Sleeping arrangements include one large dormitory usually shared by the whole group. There are twin rooms and cabins, but they are not always available and cannot be guaranteed. There is a communal living area, heated by a wood-burning stove. A separate building houses a traditional wood-fired sauna, with buckets and a hot water cauldron for washing, but no showers.
Icehotel. Made entirely from snow and ice, the temperature inside the hotel is a more or less constant –5°C. Rooms are twin or double, and beds are made of ice (insulated with a mattress and reindeer skins) and quality sleeping bags are provided. A separate ‘warm building’, only steps away, houses the luggage locker, toilets, showers and sauna.
Single clients will share with another member of the group of the same sex.
Single Accommodation single room accommodation is not available on this trip. |
