Machu Picchu And Andean High Trails

Ample time is set aside to enjoy Cusco and the Sacred Valley before trekking the last day of the Classic Inca Trail from KM104, via the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu.
We overnight at Aguas Calientes and soak in the hot springs before returning to Machu Picchu as the sun rises the following morning.
This is an unforgettable sight, and also marks the start of our next adventure, as we head south into the Cordillera Vilcanota to enjoy the less trodden trails around the base of Ausangate. Ausangate at 6300m is the highest peak in Southeast Peru and offers us spectacular high Andean trails below huge hanging glaciers and a number of rugged passes up to 5100m. With our gear loaded on mules or llamas we need only carry a day pack, and at night we share beautiful campsites with Quechua herders and your experienced leader and crew.
