Slovenia is the green treasure of Europe, lying on the sunny side of the Alps. Kranjska gora with its position in the foothills of the Julian Alps and in the vicinity of beautiful alpine valleys like Tamar, Vrata and Trenta, represents a perfect destination for an active break. It offers numerous possibilities for easy scenic biking, but it is also a paradise for more experienced and demanding mountain bikers, looking for more adrenaline and adventure.

Day 1: Transfer from Ljubljana Airport to Kranjska gora - a longer warm-up MTB tour

ITINERARY:

Day 1: TRANSFER LJUBLJANA (AIRPORT) - KRANJSKA GORA + LONGER WARM-UP MTB TOUR

Arrival at Brnik and transfer to Kranjska gora (cca 1 hour), where you will be met by our staff. Accommodation in Kranjska Gora hostel (POdkoren). A half-day moderate but long MTB tour to and across the ridges surrounding Kranjska gora /Železnica, Trupejevo poldne…) with unbeatable views of the pyramidical Mt. Spik and its group. The rough mountain paths and single tracks lead through forests, pastures, meadows…

Accommodation and "welcome dinner" at a Kranjska gora.

Day 2: MTB PARK / OPTIONAL OTHER ACTIVITIES*(rock climbing, rafting, canyoning)

A visit of a MTB park is a unique experience. You can hire a downhill bike, get all the equipment, take a ride with a cable-car to the top of the hill and then test your limits trying to overcome different barriers on the downhill polygon. Dirty clothes are assured! The rest of the day is free for exploring the area or other adventurous activities like rock climbing, canyoning, rafting can be organized.

Day 3: BIKE RACE - Vrsic pass (1611m)

Vrsic, with its 1611m, is the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. A famous all-Slovenian race called "The attack of Vrsic" is organized annually. We will organize it just for your group to give you the final adrenaline rush.
After friendly and fun informal announcement of results and prizes, transport to the airport and departure.

EQUIPMENT:

FOR MTB: water bottle, backpack, mountain biking outfit/lined tights and T-shirts from breathable material, jacket & lightweight, wind & waterproof, SPD shoes/strong trekking shoes are preferred

OTHER CLOTHES:
Mid & layer & warm (fleece) and long trousers & casual clothes for evenings
active underwear & good evaporation
biking gloves, sunhat or kerchief to protect from the sun
Sunglasses, sunscreen, lip salve
Swimwear, travel towel.

OTHER EQUIPMENT:
Rucksack & light, easy to fold, strong material, adjustable straps, rain cover
First aid kit (tape, plasters, adhesive, insect repellent,..)

OTHER:
toilet paper, strings, pencils, safety pins, pocket knife, refreshing handkerchiefs. Sleeping bags are not required. All other equipment will be provided locally.
