Mt Kenya Ascent
The majestic triple peaks of Mt Kenya are a sight to behold. Following the scenic Sirimon Trail, we approach the mountain from the northwest.
It is an exhilarating ascent as we spectacular alpine moorland, forests, glaciers and tarns.
Our goal is Point Lenana, at 4985m, the highest trekkable peak in Kenya and the second highest in Africa. Snow-capped for much of the year, it is arguably a more beautiful mountain than its neighbour Kilimanjaro and is certainly a stimulating climb in its own right.
We add an extra day to the standard itinerary to aid acclimatisation as we trek the spectacular summit circuit past the technical peaks of Batian (5199m) and Nelion (5188m).
