Namibia Trek: Fish River Canyon
Fish River Canyon, towering sand dunes at Sossusvlei and much more.
An exciting itinerary comprising some of the most beautiful scenery of one of the world's most fascinating and rewarding countries, Namibia.
Concentrating on the area south of Windhoek, we walk in the magnificent Naukluft Mountains, through the sand dunes of the Namib Desert, and past lonely quiver trees and unique wildlife.
However, perhaps the highlight of the trip is the spectacular Fish River Canyon hiking trail; cutting through the arid landscape and providing a glimpse into a raw, yet magical wilderness. Along its 85km length, the trail provides a consistently exhilarating backdrop, passing plunging gullies and flying buttresses glowing pink and yellow in the changing light.

Accommodation
& Centre Details |
| |
12 nights camping, including 3 nights under the stars.
Participatory or Basic Camping – normally in two person tents, although sometimes fixed communal tents are used. Organised campsites if used may only have basic facilities. Wild camps may have no facilities provided. The
group performs camp chores, although our staff gives advice and help.
Tents are dome style and clients are expected to assist with putting up their tents, and taking down, your normal camp mattress is 5 cm thick, made of foam and everyone has a camp chair with a backrest. An assistant will be on the trip to do camp chores such as washing up and cooking. There will be no tents during the Fish River Hike and clients will sleep on roll mats. We run
these trips during Namibia’s winter so it is not expected to rain. However weather patterns have become increasingly erratic so clients may want to consider bringing a bivi bag to get into at night on the canyon section of
the tour.
Clients are expected to carry their own personal belongings, plus some food and cooking equipment during the Fish River trek.
